Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuhu (May the Peace, Mercy and Blessings of Allah be with you).
So you got your results. You got into UCL. You’re excited, you’re buzzing, you’re jubilant. Alhamdullilah. In fact, you have every right to be, because InshAllah (God Willing) you are about to go to one of the best universities in the world!
Yet there’s a degree of uncertainty. Questions are racing through your mind bouncing off the countless rumours which have been embedded there over the years about university life. Will I fit in? Will people like me there? Will I cope with all the hard work? I’ve never lived away from home before…will I miss my family too much? London is so expensive, what will I do?
Don’t worry, for UCLU Islamic Society is here to help. Whatever questions you have, whatever concerns you have, whatever you want to know about life at UCL, we are here to answer them. After all, we were in exactly the same position, going through the same questions over and over again just a few years ago.
Please look at the list of links below, they contain information about the variety of aspects of student life including articles written by last year’s first year students (or Freshers as they are known at university) on how they managed their first year. However if there is something specific you would like to ask please send as us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org and, InshAllah we will do our earnest to reply as quickly as we can.
While you are having a browse, please join us on facebook, twitter and our mailing list so that we can keep you updated throughout the year. And make sure you pay us a visit at the UCLU Welcome Fayre!
